This is a short game I made for fun in Construct2. Only 10 small levels.

Enjoy!

Thanks! i´m glad you liked it.

I like it, but movement seems to be programmed based on framecount, so you can't reach the first platform if you're playing on 144hz, when I changed to my 60hz monitor it worked as intended. But aside from that small detail it's a nice game!

pressing up on a chest twice really fast makes 2 keys.

Mmm ok...don't do that! Lol

also like add WASD controls

ok i love this game from first sight.i havent played it because i like downloading games so can you add that and a shop where you can upgrade weapons and maybe a catalog. this game would be awesome if it had all of those features!and also dont like chamge the graphics because my computer it cant run complex games.Last but not least add a story in the game it would be awesome!sorry if im asking too much!

Zack Odyssey (GamePlay Walkthrough)

Nice!

Nice work! The graphics, music and movement were nice. A little easy and generic at this stage I must admit.

I have some questions:

  • Is there any reward for collecting all items?
  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to proceed to the next level?
  • Why does 1-7 have 21 out of 17 gems?
  • Is there a way to skip the unnecessary long key spawn?

Not reward yet for collectibles. I was thinking in unlock new episodes if you have enough diamonds...

No keyboard shortcut. The game was designed for touch screen, though i am not planning to release it to the Google playstore.

You are right! 1-7 has more gems. My mistake, sorry! The other bug i found too late Is to let movement to the player in the intro scene, the one with the house. That was not supposed to happen.

Maybe i could make the key animation faster...no way to skipp it though.

Nice game, I like it!
But in level design could be some inprovements, especially in 1-7, it would be nice if you introduce new enemies at the beginning of the levels an not at the end.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree!

Very nice. Getting tricky quickly.

Good jumping games

Everybody do the Mush Wiggle

Observe it at the start of 1-7

Impressive work, really liked it

Brilliant !
.. be fractionally more brilliant with controller support :)

I really enjoyed it. For me the jumps felt a little more to heavy. But besides that good job!

Very nice! The complete package I'd say, nice pixel art, awesome music, gameplay is pretty tight and the whole atmosphere sucked me in. Minor improvement points:

  • It's way too easy, although admittedly it's only the first 10 levels
  • Some of the sprites are less pixely than others (higher resolution) like the door and the moving small spikes.

But really nice start of this game!

Well - in my experience, the first level was too hard for a first level; I almost gave up. Then everything that followed was extremely easy, only the spiked balls were a challenge. So, to sum up, it would need some balancing.

Furthermore, the platforms sometimes pause at the end of their way, and sometimes don't. Is this intended?

But all in all you made a really great game, like swoopie pointed out!

Really? What did you think was so hard on the first level? Not meaning to be condescending or anything, just wondering :)

I'm guessing it's because it doesn't really seem like a 'first level', it has more of a 'third level' vibe if you know what I mean.

I do

Those moving platforms over the spikes where you have to time and position yourself precisely.

Plus I am a completionist - when there are those crystals plainly in sight, I want to collect them :D ! So for this, of course, it would have been just to condescend on me, swoopie :D

Fun, and looks good!

Good game, but I always find it strange when the pixels are not proportional. Still, it's a really fun game.

isnt this Bloxels Music? if not, i dunno what it is but ive heard it before a lot of times. also, the arrow at the start isnt smart. it is from a different tileset that doesnt fit. otherwise, OMG ITS AMAZING

I agree, I think the music is really catchy and it fits perfectly in a platformer game !

The intro music is called "Victory!" and was composed, performed, mixed and mastered by Viktor Kraus. If you wanna check out more of his stuff, visit  https://www.youtube.com/user/Weltenmaler

The music in levels 1-4 was composed by Juhani Junkala. You can check his game audio portfolio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsduNdYW9EI and homepage: https://juhanijunkala.com/

The music in levels 5-10 was composed by Chance de la Soul (https://opengameart.org/users/chance-de-la-soul)

By the way, thanks for your feedback, it helps me to be a better videogame designer. i am glad you liked my game!

thanks for the links! All of them were great choices! If you wanna check out my only game so far, Cloud Skippers, and give some feedback, that would be awesome!

Pretty cool game, love the art and the little details like the Zzz... showing up when idle. Keep up the good work <3

I think the level is designed very creatively, however the character feels decently heavy. So some parts felt a little strange, however it was a pleasant experience.
