Space Patrol is a short top down shooter built with Godot for a school proyect.  Just 2 levels to test some functionalities and game mechanics. The gameplay is similar to Nuclear Throne.

Your mission is simple and somewhat expected: kill all the enemies to open a portal to go to the next stage. Lose all your health, and you `ll have to start over.

This is my first prototype made in Godot, so expect some bugs. Not sure if I`ll continue with this game in the nearly future.

Hope you like it !

can you release the godot code for this as a template like your FPS one?

Looks and sounds really nice. However, I now got 18/19 kills and am pretty sure I can't find any enemies anymore. Did it perhaps not count the one I shot before it started moving? The shooting alien on the top leftish.

Sorry for that. Some bugs are expected to happen!

No worries, was just reporting a bug indeed. Good first attempt on a Godot game!

I'm bad at using a keyboard for an action game. I do much better at Nuclear Throne in twin stick mode. I'll need that setup to properly test the game.

I like the illustrations. Why did you choose to contrast the crispness of the pixel graphics with the smoothness of the light effect, and why is the character emitting light?

Thanks for ur feedback ! I  've never used 2D lights and shadows in any game before so I thought: why not? ? i think it looks pretty cool.

I've seen other game makers use the light effect with pixelated graphics. I think it betrays the pixel aesthetic.

Well... this is just a prototype to test some game mechanics and the main aim was to learn Godot. The look & feel was not a big concern for me. But I appreciate your comments. Thanks
